Winter will go away soon, and to mark the end of winter, many parts of
the country will celebrate with a bonfire on Lohri. Traditionally this festival
is also celebrated to mark the harvest of the winter crop and to seek blessings
(and heat) from the Sun! As with most festivals, this one is also accompanied
by the exchanging of gifts. Traditionally, children used to go from door to
door and collect logs as gifts, which would be burnt in the Lohri bonfire. But
in today’s age one must think up some good gift ideas for Lohri that
will be well appreciated.
